Monalisa Hazarika

Monalisa Hazarika is the Research and Strategic Engagement Officer at SCRAP Weapons where she oversees the various research workstreams, is in charge of external relations and outreach strategies, and leads the organization’s youth and community engagement initiatives. She previously worked as a Consultant with the team.  

Monalisa holds a master’s degree in Conflict Management and Development from the Banaras Hindu University, and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from North Eastern Hill University, India. She has previously worked at the United Nations Institute For Disarmament Research (UNIDIR), Action on Armed Violence (AOAV), Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), Forum on the Arms Trade, and the British American Security Information Council (BASIC) in varying capacities, and is a #Youth4disarmament alumna under the UN Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA).
